Bride and Groom FREE with bridal party of 6 or more people.

$10.00 per person per one hour class. Evening and weekend classes available.

L.A. Dance offers a variety of social dance classes such as East Coast Swing, Lindy, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Salsa, and Casino de Rueda. Following is a description of each of the exciting classes:

East Coast Swing

This style of swing dancing was popularized in the 1990’s by bands such as Brian Setzer and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy! The East Coast basic is made up of six counts. You will learn basic fundamentals found in all partner dancing. You will also learn techniques that will prepare you for the more advanced swing dances such as Lindy. This class is geared for having fun and getting you out on the dance floor!!

Lindy

A dance that originated in the 1930’s and is making a strong comeback in the new millennium!! This is an eight count dance that uses counterbalance to make lead/follow moves possible. Lindy can be seen in the vintage movies with greats such as Dean Collins and Frankie Manning!! Come and learn this ever so popular dance that can be done at many social gatherings.

Balboa/Bal-Swing

Originating in the 1930’s, Balboa was danced in a closed position “cheek-to-cheek” with the emphasis on footwork. Swing dancing came on the scene which added turns and breakaways to Balboa inventing Bal-Swing. Balboa is becoming popular once again with its smooth flow and easy lead/follow moves. Come and learn fancy footwork that is sure to make you shine on the dance floor.

Collegiate Shag

A style of dance that also originated in the 1930’s by college kids. The younger generation back then rebelled against the Waltz and turned it into Collegiate Shag. It is a six count dance that incorporates fast footwork done to mid-to-fast tempos. This dance helped to bring about other dances such as the Big Apple. Enroll now to learn this fast- paced, exciting dance!!

Salsa

The hottest Latin dance on the scene today!! Salsa is an eight count dance that incorporates flashy footwork and intricate combinations. You will learn basic partner moves along with syncopated footwork called “Shines”. After taking this class you are sure to burn the floor anywhere you go!!

Casino de Rueda

This dance is Salsa done in a circle with multiple couples. Often compared to Country Square Dancing, one person acts as leader and calls out moves while changing partners frequently throughout the dance. Sure to be a fun time whether you have two or ninety couples!!! This social dance is now sweeping clubs and dance floors across the nation. Come out and learn one of the latest dance crazes!

Private Lessons

Private classes consist of 1-2 couples. The cost for a private lesson is $50.00 per hour per couple.
If you choose to set up 2-4 lessons, the cost is reduced to $45.00 per hour per couple.
If you choose to set up 5-8 lessons, the cost is reduced to $40.00 per hour per couple.
If you choose to set up 10 lessons, the cost is reduced to $35.00 per hour per couple.

Group Lessons

Group classes consist of three or more couples. The cost for a group class is $40.00 per person for a four week session.

Please wear comfortable clothing.

Please wear a clean pair of smooth soled shoes. We cannot wear street shoes on the dance floor. Any dirt, sand, ice, or salt brought in from outside will damage the dance floor. You may wear any style of shoe as long as they are new and haven’t been worn outside. If you are interested in purchasing Swing or Salsa shoes, please inquire at the desk in the lobby. We do sell a few styles of shoes for both men and women.
