Welcome to "Ground Control".

L.A. Dance is pleased to present "Ground Control", Lake Orion’s premiere Hip-Hop Dance Company.

The mission of "Ground Control" is to bring excitement and enthusiasm to the art of dance. It is a Hip-Hop dance company that will provide quality training in the latest dance style. We want students to develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-discipline through practices and performances. To create a fun and exciting atmosphere for all involved.

Students of all ages are welcome to join the Company. There is Company A for ages 7-12 and Company B for ages 13 and up. Boys and Girls are welcome to join.

Students will practice 1 hour a week. The cost for the class is $60.00 per month. (If you are currently a student at L.A. Dance, the cost is only $10.00 additional per month).

Being a part of the Company means you will have more performances throughout the year. Performances include summer festivals and special events. I will try my best to give everyone plenty of time to plan for the performances. Events that we have previously performed at are:

Celebrate Oxford

Michigan State Fair

WHAT YOU NEED FOR CLASS:

Please wear comfortable clothing. Please wear a clean pair of sneakers or tennis shoes. Please no street shoes on the dance floor.

Please drink plenty of water. For your convenience, water is available for sale in the lobby.

COSTUMES

Your instructor will notify you of what you will need to wear for performances. Your instructor will also let you know what type of shoes you will need for performances. A $45.00 costume deposit is due by November 15. The balances are due by January 15.

SUMMER SESSION:

There is a summer session for "Ground Control". It is important to continue classes throughout the summer to be able to improve technique and to be a part of our summer performances such as Celebrate Oxford and The Michigan State Fair. Students will perform their routines from the season during the summer.

WORKSHOPS:

We will occassionally bring in some of the nation's top Hip-Hop dance instructors from California and New York to teach a one day workshop at the studio. We hope that all of the "Ground Control" students will take advantage of this exciting opportunity! Students are responsible for the workshop fees.

TEAM SUITS:

"Ground Control" has a special team warm-up to wear to and from practices and performances. We will take a group picture for "Ground Control" during picture weekend in the Spring. Although they are not mandatory, they are highly recommended. If you do not have a "Ground Control" warm-up suit, you will not be in the warm-up team suit picture. We also have a special dance bag for "Ground Control." For information on the warm-up gear please contact the studio.
